We've had several people ask us ... "Exactly how does it work?"

The simple answer is that you take a loop of string, stretch it out over a field on pulleys, attach a motor to make it move, and tie a plastic bag to the line.

Start the motor and you have "Cocaine for Dogs" as our President's mom has called it.  It's not exactly a PC description, but we think it accurately describes the effect it has on your dog!

Here's a view of our field before the line has been set up.  You can see that we keep the field mowed clean.  That makes it safer for the dogs to run and keeps down the noise of the line moving over the grass, which can distract some dogs.  It also makes the lure more visible for smaller dogs.  I'm not sure why the stuffed penguin is out there.  Maybe it's supervising.  Our field is about 330' deep and 226' wide, although we have areas fenced off to the left and right of the start area for our ducks and chickens.

Here's a view from the start of a basic course. I've tried to draw in the line so it's more visible.  The line is run around special pulleys on the ground and around the drive motor's pulley.  It's nothing but a huge loop of string.  The line is stretched tightly so that the pulley can move the line, but if a dog grabs the lure or the line, or gets tangled, the line will just slip on the pulley.  This helps to prevent injury.  One of our dogs has now added a rabbit to the course.  A nice idea, but too big to pull around the pulleys.
